Havana or La Habana is the capital city of Cuba. It's also the largest city, province, major port, and leading commercial center. With a population of approximately 2.1 million inhabitants, it spans a total of 781.58 sq kilometers, making it the largest city by area, the most populous city, and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean region. Havana is three cities in one: Old Havana, Vedado and the newer suburban districts. The city extends mostly westward and southward from the bay. The old fort overlooks the narrow inlet and which divides into three main harbors: Mari melena, Guanabacoa and Antares. The Almendares River traverses the city from south to north. The city attracts over a million tourists annually and Old Havana is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Old Havana is best known for its cafes, architecture, music and dancing.
