Folk Under the Clock came to be on September 23, 1986 in Peterborough, Ontario, with its very first concert featuring Scottish singer/songwriter Dougie Maclean (www.dougiemaclean.com), an international folk legend who has since played the series numerous times. Over the years the concert series has featured some incredible acts from Canada and around the world. Featured artists have included: Loreena McKennitt, Tom Paxton, Eric Bogle, Andy Irvine, Dar Williams, Fairport Convention, Waterson-Carthy, Rawlins Cross, James Keelaghan, Lennie Gallant, Archie Fisher, Ron Hynes, Martyn Joseph, The Tannahill Weavers, Martin Simpson, Spirit of the West, Danu, Dervish, Four Men and a Dog, Stephen Fearing, Oscar Lopez, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Harry Manx, Ian Tamblyn, Bruce Cockburn, Arlo Guthrie, Alex Cuba, David Francey, Dala, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, Greg Brown, The Bills, Colin Linden, Fred Eaglesmith, Connie Kaldor, Garnet Rogers, Strunz & Farah, The Wailin’ Jennies, Jill Barber, Oysterband, Kate Rusby, and many more. Folk Under The Clock celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary Season in 2011/12 and the 25th. Anniversary Concert on November 19, 2011 featured a brilliant triple bill with David Francey, Dala, and James Keelaghan in a sold out show. (See pics below). The 25th season also included concerts with Ron Sexsmith, Caladh Nua (Ireland) and The Once from Newfoundland.
