SIX NATIONS HEIGHTENS STATE OF EMERGENCY OVER FLOODING

OHSWEKEN – Six Nations authorities are extending a state of emergency for the territory and are closely monitoring trouble spots for more action.

BRANT, SIX NATIONS RESPOND TO GRAND RIVER FLOODING

Brant was spared the major flooding that forced an evacuation of parts of Brantford but county public works crews were on the road to trouble spots in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after being notified of an ice jam break farther to the north on the Grand River.

CITY ORDERS EVACUATION CALL DUE TO FLOOD CONDITIONS

Due to current flooding conditions and risks of further flooding throughout the day, Brantford’s emergency operations centre has issued an immediate evacuation call for the following areas of the city:

PREMIER PLEDGES SUPPORT

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne promised support to the city on Wednesday evening ahead of a second surge of flood water expected to hit Thursday morning.

Brantford (2016 population 97,496; CMA population 134,203) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, founded on the Grand River.
